Why did you decide to become a therapist?
My younger sister suffered from a traumatic brain injury. A part of her rehabilitation was weekly vision therapy sessions. I was able to see firsthand the positive impact that therapy has on not only functional vision but in improving daily life.
What's your favorite part about working at ECA?
I love to witness the growth that takes place from week to week in therapy. It's so rewarding to see a patient succeed at something they previously struggled with. I also love that the ECA staff is so dedicated to helping not only our patients but one another as well. We work as a team and are able to learn from each other and share ideas.
What is your patient care philosophy?
I believe in creating partnerships with my patients and their families. My approach to working with patients is to tap into their interests, personalities, and abilities in order to provide an individualized vision therapy program.
What would you want every patient to know about their eye health?
Your eyes play an important role in so many of your daily activities. Your vision isn't just what you can see but how you see and process.
