Dr. Weatherbee comes from Nova Scotia and completed a B.Sc. in Physics at Mount Allison University, New Brunswick, Canada, in 2008. He then spent time working in the funeral industry with his father before pursuing a life's dream: teaching English in Japan for several years. Soon after returning home, Dr. Weatherbee was involved in a near-fatal motor vehicle accident, which set him on his current path in life.
Matthew graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston in 2023, serving as Class President and representing the school at a national optometry quiz bowl. He found his true passion working with others who have had a brain injury. He is thankful every day for the doctors, nurses, and therapists who helped him following his accident and intends to give back that same level of care and compassion to his patients.
He is currently a SUNY resident in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Vision Therapy working under Dr. Schulman.
When he is not looking at eyes or drinking coffee, Matthew enjoys playing guitar and riding his motorcycle.
