Dr. Randy Schulman has been our family optometrist for 20+ years

5

Dr. Randy Schulman has been our family optometrist for 20+ years. We brought our vaccine injured daughter to her because she had several visual stims that were interfering with her ability to progress. The therapy was successful, one of the few positive outcomes we've had in our long search to help our daughter. We trust Randy implicitly.

They couldn’t have been more helpful and professional

I went into EyeCare Associates due to an emergency and they couldn't have been more helpful and professional. Not only did I get to see the doctor immediately, I was also taught how to properly remove and put in my contact lenses. That was the reason for my emergency and due to the staff there, I will never have that emergency again! I recommend them immensely!

Very quickly, I saw a noticeable improvement in my son’s abilities

Hi. I am Lisa R and have a 26-year-old, special needs son, who, when he was young, had a lot of vision, sensory and perceptual problems. He also had problems with visually tracking, and proprioceptive issues. When he was around five years old, I started taking him to see Dr. Randy Schulman, who started working with him using vision therapy, prism glasses, and exercises and games used to stimulate and improve his eye-hand coordination, sensory system, and so much more. He would also get homework, to continue to work on these issues and reinforce the vision therapy. Very quickly, I saw a very noticeable improvement in my son's abilities, perception, visual tracking and much more, which continue to this day. I highly recommend Dr. Randy Schulman, her company, EyeCare Associates, and her wonderful staff!

Thanks to Dr. Tirado we are now starting on the right path

My son was seen by Dr. Tirado and he was very thorough and took the time to make sure to get down to the bottom of my son's vision problems. Even though my son is five and can have a hard time paying attention, Dr. Tirado made sure to work with him and keep the tests interesting for him. It turned out that my son was misdiagnosed by another doctor and now thanks to Dr. Tirado we are now starting on the right path and I can't thank him enough. All the other staff we worked were also very helpful and patient as well.

A young boy with lazy eye succeeds from vision therapy

Gavin is an energetic 8 year old who has a history of amblyopia and hyperopia, greater in the hyperopic left eye. He initially presented with right eye farsightedness of +3.50 and left eye is farsightedness of +5.50. Due to the high farsightedness and difference between his two eyes, he saw 20/30 in the right eye and 20/200 in the left eye when we first saw him 3 years ago. Gavin was prescribed a reduced glasses prescription and a computer program for amblyopia. He improved in acuity over the first year and came for vision therapy at times over the next couple of years to address eye movement, focusing, eye teaming and visual spatial difficulties, all common in children with lazy eyes, that was affecting his ability to read and learn. Today, his acuity is now 20/20 in the right eye and nearly 20/30 in the left eye and his basic visual skills are excellent. He has good tracking eye movements, much improved focusing and eye teaming. He no longer suppresses or shuts down his left eye and his stereoscopic depth perception is excellent. He is doing much better in school, has learned to ride a bike, and shared the following:

Vision therapy has helped me ride my bike, and help me for school in math, writing, and reading. I have gotten very good grades because of vision therapy. Gavin Nestor,  age 8

Post Concussion Review

After a concussion from a high school sports injury, I assumed that headaches were just going to be a part of my life that I could only manage but not cure. Fast forward ten years, after a particularly bad headache, I began suffering from vertigo that impacted my daily life.

I decided to visit an eye doctor, noticing that the headaches also correlated to a soreness behind my eyes. The first office I visited did a full exam and found nothing wrong. I left this appointment with the knowledge that I had near-perfect vision, but also the sinking suspicion that I was missing something.

While researching my symptoms, I found EyeCare Associates. In their brochure about convergence insufficiency, I read that a basic eye exam may not detect CI. This gave me hope! And I immediately reached out to EyeCare Associates to make an appointment for a consultation.

It was such a relief to finally have an answer. I began vision therapy with Dr. Spengler to work on resolving what I learned was accommodative insufficiency. After just a few months of VT, my quality of life has significantly improved. The headaches are gone, the vertigo is gone, and I've learned so much about my eyes and visual hygiene.

I'm so grateful for Dr. Schulman and Dr. Spengler, and the whole team at EyeCare Associates for finding answers for me when no one else could.
